Penpal is a Creepypasta that was first published on the NoSleep subreddit by 1000Vultures (Dathan Auerbach) and was later self-published as a novel by the same name by Dathan Auerbach. The book follows the narrator when he finds himself in the spotlight of an obsessive stalker who tracks him throughout his childhood. I heard it through the NoSleep Podcast and was really looking forward to it. The rights to Penpal's film were released by producer Rich Middlemas in 2012. My final verdict – The book is a great stand alone, and one that would stick in your head.No wait, Feed the Pig. I’ll tell you a secret, in the story, the main character was stalked as a child, all the way through to his teenage years. In retrospect, the story was quite short, but terribly chill inducing. I literally read it in class and in the car. The book was beautifully written, and I could not put it down. Luckily for all you cheap people who don’t want to waste money on a paperback, the story is still available on reddit. After some thorough researching, I found out that the writer is actually nosleep user 1000vultures, whose writing persuaded many people to aid him in publishing his book on . The story is written in little snippets of his memory, and step-by-step his chilling childhood is exposed.Īs I read the first chapter, I slowly came to realize that I had read it before, a story that I had found on /r/nosleep, a place for stories that, well, don’t make you sleep. The story revolves around the main character, presumably Dathan, and his mysterious childhood that he decides to investigate. Penpal is the debut book of writer Dathan Auerbach.
